From the Nominator
The University of Portland’s longtime editor of Portland magazine, the late Brian Doyle, was diagnosed with brain cancer in November 2016. A few months later, he passed away. The magazine that he had worked on for 25 years came to a sudden halt. Many of the university's donors had supported Portland magazine and knew Brian personally. To honor Brian and his work, the university’s president requested that a specialty book be made for a select group of donors.
