“Walking with the Hope” chronicles the journey of Wubetu Shimelash, a shepherd boy born in the remote mountains of Ethiopia, as he discovered a bigger world through a chance encounter that led him to a new life in the United States. Today, Wubetu is a student at Wake Forest University with an unlimited future and big plans to fulfill his own creative dreams as a filmmaker, to develop tourism in his home country, and to leverage interest in his success into improving education, literacy, health, women’s status, and other issues in Ethiopia.
