Who doesn’t love the chance to win “free” money? Especially when that money can be used to support your favorite causes? On 1842 Day, Villanova’s giving day, students on campus could do just that – by riding in a Cat Cab and answering trivia questions to earn donor-sponsored support for any area of campus. Inspired by the hit Discovery Channel show, Cash Cab, we offered a new way to involve students in the excitement and impact of 1842 Day powered by matching gifts.

Villanova's program was universally loved by the judging panel because it engaged students in a meaningful and creative way. As student engagement becomes more and more important for the future of our fundraising programs the panel felt strongly that this program serves as a model for other institutions.
