CMU is a leader in Great Lakes environmental research, and our team created an interactive multimedia presentation for our website to reinforce this key message. Team members traveled with and interviewed faculty and students to gather information, photos, and video footage. We developed an interactive map, four immersive videos, and focused text to showcase the variety and range of our research in a compelling way. The presentation also links to the five CMU departments represented in our Institute for Great Lakes Research so interested future students can explore and engage.

What seemed like a standard research story on the surface turned into a surprising interactive and engaging experience that takes users through CMU's journey to understanding and protecting the Great Lakes. The use of beautifully produced videos, movement on the map, and quickly consumable copy leaves you informed, impressed, and excited to continue following the story. Especially considering the CMU team produced this package entirely in-house and on a limited budget, the quality of the work and the thoughtfulness put into it is outstanding.
