External Audiences Website
From the Nominator
This new institutional website for Hawaii Preparatory Academy focuses on two core audiences: potential admissions candidates and their families, plus prospective donors (alumni, current parents, and the local community, including foundations). This site is built in WordPress for maximum design flexibility and functionality. The rest of the HPA community (employees, students, current parents) is served primarily by a separate, password-protected website. As part of a school-wide investment in institutional identity, marketing, and audience engagement, we launched this site in December 2019. Our overarching goal is to capture the aloha spirit of HPA and the exceptional learning experiences that are found only on Hawaii Island.
From the Judges
Many times, one of the best features of your institution is its location. There are many where this allows you to have a competitive advantage and it is beneficial to your marketing to lean into that advantage. Hawaii Preparatory Academy did just that. The use of video and photography is breathtaking, and allows users to really understand the personality of the school and how it intertwines with the location and curriculum. Beyond anything, the site and the write up feel 100% authentic to who they are and where they are.
