This poster was inspired by a special edition of Pegasus magazine that commemorated UCF’s 2018 football season, which capped off the Knights’ 25-game winning streak across two years. The illustration is filled with intricate details including our fight song, game day traditions, fan-favorite icons, and highlights from the historic football seasons.

This entry impressed the judges with its exceptional visual balance, expert handling of fine detail and line weight in the artwork to create a unifying cohesive story, and beautiful crisp typography with nuanced shading. The poster is printed on a thick, quality, black uncoated stock. The smokey white and muted golds are beautifully reproduced with a softness and elegance. We applaud the designer for not falling into the common trap of wanting everything to be glossy, varnished, and overly bright. By using a premium uncoated paper, it lets the colors sit on the paper in an elegant way without getting mushy or blurry.
