At The Preuss School UC San Diego, we have made a promise to immerse low-income, first-generation students from across San Diego in a college-bound culture that provides opportunities for success, and creates leaders who will change our world. The Preuss Promise is an annual gala benefiting The Preuss School UC San Diego—a unique charter middle and high school for low-income students who strive to become the first in their families to graduate from college. Proceeds from the event empower our students with opportunities to succeed, as well as provide an avenue for social mobility that elevates families and transforms communities. For the 2019 event, revised messaging inspired a fresh perspective for the event video: showing donors and other supporters what a day in the life of The Preuss School UC San Diego looks like. The video demonstrates what The Preuss Promise means for students and faculty, and how faculty members deliver that promise every day in their classrooms, as mentors, and on campus.

The panel chose to recognize this video for capturing the authentic voices of teachers, and for showing teachers' commitment to the mission of educating young children. We especially appreciated its impact in relation to costs, and applaud the in-house team. A serious video appropriate for a gala event, and with a feel-good message.
