We sought to create a publication that embodied the Furman University experience and illustrated the impact of our signature approach to education: The Furman Advantage. The Furman Advantage guarantees every student a personalized four-year pathway that combines classroom learning with real-world experiences and self-discovery. This integrated pathway, guided by a diverse community of mentors, prepares students for lives of purpose, and accelerated career and community impact. Key to self-discovery is intentional reflection. Mentors, faculty, and advisors encourage students to reflect on their experiences throughout their four years to make informed decisions about their path.

Furman University’s 2019 President’s Report really stood out for us. The design is strong and inviting. The content is concise and not overwhelming. The use of white space, type, infographics, and photography makes it easy to engage. This is a big report that gathers huge amounts of information and presents it beautifully. The photography at the beginning of each section is impactful, and the report is designed in a way that is mature, even elegant, but not in any way stuffy. It's a complete package but not overwhelming. Readers will clearly understand their mission and focus. We also appreciated the subtle way they threaded the school color, purple, throughout the report. It is often easy to go overboard with content for an annual report, and we thought the creators used a lot of restraint, which resulted in a stellar report.
