Inspired by TED Talks, UF Advancement created their very own Top Ten Talks, with the goal of showcasing the bright minds and talent within our organization. As a direct output of our internal employee engagement survey, Top Ten Talks provide an inclusive opportunity to celebrate and encourage our staff. Top Ten Talks is a platform for employees to give a short (10 min), carefully crafted talk or presentation to inspire staff around new ideas, key initiatives, and advanced processes in fundraising. This highly interactive session creates an opportunity to hear from different team members on emerging trends, ideas, strategies, and thought leaders in fundraising to cultivate an environment of success.
From the Judges
The institution invited employees from various units to do 10-minute presentations in the style of TED Talks; these talks were recorded and shared through YouTube. The goal was to encourage presenters to share thoughts and inspire others in a fun and interesting way to learn. This style of talks also brings presenters out of their shell, so it encourages diversity and could result in increased motivation and retention.
