From the Judges
This single illustration captures the full emotional depth of the written piece, very nicely conveying the journey of those involved. The elements are dynamic and seamlessly align with the tone of the story, matching the emotional heaviness of loss with the release and finality of the subject’s passing, though with a light on the horizon. This feels like a frame from an animated piece we want to watch, there is so much being conveyed to the viewer, and leaves one wanting more.
