Define Providence
From the Nominator
When campus visits came to a halt and in-person college fairs disappeared, how would higher education institutions showcase their distinctive people and places? At Providence College, the marketing and communications division, in collaboration with the office of admissions, found an answer with Define Providence, a new series of student recruitment publications. Conceived, written, and designed entirely during the pandemic, and with a fully remote, in-house team, the admission suite allowed the PC to speak for itself, quite literally through the perspectives of its community, and with bold, provocative visuals. A first-look mailer, roadpiece, viewbook, and academics-focused yield piece offered an insider's look at Providence College during a time when the country stopped going out.
From the Judges
It's rare to find recruitment pieces where both the text and design are used in tandem to tell the overall story, but that's what Providence does so well throughout this campaign. The visuals are not just compelling, but are used strategically to carry the Providence story and personality throughout its pieces.
