From the Nominator
Publishing a semi-annual magazine in 2020 meant attempting to plan features that would maintain their relevance in spite of a rapidly changing world. To do so, we turned to the elements of the human experience that persevere–most notably, the strength we draw from community. In “First Person Plural,” we sought to inspire our audience, long separated by pandemic precautions and much alienated by an increasingly polarized world, and remind them that even our isolation was an experience in which we were not alone.
From the Judges
Fun, engaging, and well-written. The voice of Sacred Heart University, and the people who send the school's message to the world comes through loud and clear.
