Leadership Salon Series
From the Nominator
New York University faced the need to engage major donors and prospects during the pandemic, which was a challenge without being able to host in-person events. This challenge led to the development of the NYU Leadership Salon Series, intimate and exclusive online events around important topics, institutional areas of strength and distinction, and with top faculty including a Pulitzer Prize winner. Three events were held in fall 2020 around the topics of COVID-19 and the history of pandemics in the United States, democracy and social media, and a virtual tour of an exhibition about Roman artifacts. These virtual events opened up new audiences and connections for our development officers, and helped rekindle relationships with alumni located outside of the New York City area. The result was a marked increase in engagement opportunities for development officers, highlighting lesser known areas of the university, and maintaining relationships with alumni and parents.
