Mizzou: Our Time to Lead Campaign Celebration
From the Nominator
After months of planning, the University of Missouri’s end-of-campaign celebration gala was forced to pivot to an online event. The team grasped the opportunity and created an engaging and thrilling online event showcase and communications rollout that also incorporated on-campus displays illustrating the impact of this historic $1.4 billion campaign. The week kicked off with a scholarship installation at the heart of campus on the Francis Quadrangle (see paws on the quad images). The following day, a display was installed in the MU Student Center featuring the dreams and goals students have achieved because of Mizzou. Two days later, the virtual celebrations started with virtual cocktail receptions, with celebration boxes delivered to all campaign leadership donors and key volunteers. More than 1,000 participants watched the debut of our online broadcast of the Campaign Celebration, featuring ESPN SportsCenter anchor John Anderson, BJ ‘87, and a series of story-telling vignettes that demonstrated the reach and magnitude of the $1.4 billion campaign. Following the event, the video was divided into individually featured standalone stories that were shared across Mizzou channels in the weeks that followed. This approach allowed for a multi-channel, wide-reaching, dynamic celebration experience.
