One Ball State Day Breaks Records Amidst COVID-19
From the Nominator
One Ball State Day: Together, Cardinals Made History...Again.
Ball State University ended its inaugural One Ball State Day in April 2019 with a 1,555% increase over our highest ever one-day total for gifts. With the early stages of shutdowns taking place in the spring of 2020, what would our second giving day look like? We watched and listened as our neighbors across the state and country cancelled or postponed their giving days.
So what happened in 2020?
We knew our students needed us, and we Cardinals rise together in the face of uncertain times. On April 7, 2020, the Ball State community said yes to the university once again. More than 6,300 gifts came in on One Ball State Day 2020—a 53% increase over 2019! Our social media reach was nearly 7 million.
Pandemic or not, we Cardinals fly.
From the Judges
We loved the different spin of trying to get gifts nationwide, and how they showed this on a map. Very creative!
