Science Student Athlete Series
From the Nominator
As Ryerson University looks forward to reopening campus, we look back at the extraordinary student athletes from previous years. The Science Student Athlete series was filmed pre-COVID, and was released in anticipation of the campus' eventual reopening and resumption of athletics. It celebrates the diversity and versatility of Ryerson's Faculty of Science students, and serves as inspiration for current students to pursue their interests, no matter if they're academic or non-academic-related. In the first video of the series, we learn about biomedical sciences student Elisa Lapadula and how she overcame an injury as a first-year student. Through perseverance and patience, she became goalkeeper and captain for the Ryerson Rams Women's Soccer Team. Her story has a takeaway we all can benefit from: hard work and patience really does pay off.
