UF College of Medicine hosts close to 500 alumni and friends annually at Alumni Weekend. Milestone reunion years are held in five-year increments, and last year we had 12 medical classes and five physician assistant classes primed to return for a weekend of enrichment and reconnection, while also giving back through the Reunion Giving Program. This program typically raises $1.5M+ each year. When COVID struck, like all institutions we had to not only change direction but we had to be keenly aware that our alumni population, being healthcare providers, were affected differently. How could we plan a feel-good event with a strong fundraising component for those who were in the midst of battling a pandemic?
