Why We Write, now in its third season, is a podcast about authors, their writing methods, and books. All guests have some connection to the Lesley community — most as faculty, alumni, or current students with the occasional guest. The podcast is primarily one-on-one interviews with a diverse selection of award-winning authors who write in a variety of genres. Interviewers often have an existing relationship with the authors, which adds to the conversational tone of the episodes. We are also diversifying the podcast by offering more episodes dedicated to the writing craft.
From the Judges
This show has some really interesting conversations about the craft and profession of writing that go beyond Lesley University. It sounds like it could have easily been produced by a book publisher or literary magazine, which is a good thing! We also appreciated its ability to give life and value to a major that may otherwise be seen as inconsequential.
