24 Hours with Pistol Pete
From the Nominator
"Have you ever wondered what it's like to be Oklahoma State's beloved mascot, Pistol Pete? Meghan Robinson spent 24 hours with the students behind the head, Parker Wilson and Michael Albright, to see what it takes to be the face of the university.
This feature exhibits the audition and selection process for the mascot, their appearances schedule, and why they wanted to be the mascot. We wanted to make this feel as personal as possible by giving fans access to the behind-the-scenes moments of being Pistol Pete. This was executed by showing the transition from one mascot to the next at a football game and how they transform from normal students to a larger-than-life personality."
From the Judges
We enjoy the behind-the-scenes concept of this video and learning about the students behind the costume. They did a great job achieving the goal they set out to accomplish. We enjoyed the interview style and the use of b-roll. It was engaging, but not too long.
