"In fall 2020, the Office of Communications and Marketing was tasked with informing all returning and new students about Auburn University’s daily HealthCheck protocol for COVID-19. We determined the best avenue would be through using our 10-time national mascot champion, Aubie, in a TikTok video. We utilized all in-house resources to promote how to use the daily HealthCheck for students returning to campus and the importance of doing so.
The final video served its dual purpose well--a reminder to students to complete the HealthCheck so they could be on campus, and provided a creative outlet to convey important COVID-19 information. The idea and execution ended up being a win-win for Auburn University, Aubie, and most importantly, our students."
