From the Nominator
"How do you create an admissions brochure that stands out from the rest, provides prospective students with detailed yet approachable information about your university, helpful tips and tricks for college life, and offers a little fun and whimsy along the way?
That was the question we asked at George Fox University as we reviewed our suite of admissions print pieces. Something was missing, and we had to fill the gap. We needed a piece that would keep students who were further down the marketing funnel interested and show them something new. A piece that showcased our key brand distinctives without selling too hard. Something a 17-year-old would actually read.
The answer we came up with was Bruin Bound magazine. This two-magazine series is received by future George Fox Bruins during their senior year of high school. Many have applied and deposited, but how many of those will become disinterested and melt? A key goal of this publication is to keep George Fox University top of mind for these students, but on their terms.
The impact of any print piece is often hard to gauge, but one thing is certain: George Fox experienced record-breaking enrollment in 2021--remarkable during a pandemic and at a time when many similar institutions were experiencing significant recruiting issues. It’s fair to say that Bruin Bound magazine contributed to that success story."
