Evermore: Texas Tech University Magazine
From the Nominator
"The name Evermore is a nod to Texas Tech University's school song, written by a student nearly a century ago. While painting a picture of who we are and who we want to become--leaders who change the world for the better--the lyrics simultaneously remind us how interconnected we are with our past, present, and future. Within the pioneers who founded this institution burned the same spirit that drives our faculty and researchers today, and in our students, the innovators of tomorrow.
As a subsidiary brand of Texas Tech, Evermore supports the overall history and vision of the institution. We endeavor to reinforce that quintessential Texas Tech ideal: From Here, It’s Possible. Like the university it represents, Evermore weaves together a sense of community, possibility, and the grit of Fearless Champions. We used our traditional, bold scarlet and black colors on the cover, but inside the magazine, we tailored the design of each spread to the content of that story, while maintaining an overall design palette for continuity. We did not limit ourselves to scarlet and black inside Evermore, but allowed ourselves to push the boundaries of our traditional designs.
After launching our first issue in 2021, the results speak for themselves. We've seen an incredible uptick in engagement, especially among alumni whose connections to Texas Tech were tenuous at best, while maintaining the connections that were already strong. Our community has embraced Evermore, voiced their enjoyment of it, and subscribed by the hundreds for future issues."
From the Judges
This is just great. The magazine design is awesome. It's engaging, different, eye-catching, and makes you just want to read it. Each story has its own style and flair, and the great photography paired with the design that pulls you in to each story. I imagine the whole magazine is read by everyone cover to cover. The details in the launch event are also spectacular. Bravo!
