From the Nominator

"Beginning Aug. 3, 2021, the University of Tennessee System President Randy Boyd and team members traveled to 50 counties across the great state of Tennessee to learn about and celebrate UT’s impact across the state. The tour across the state spanned three months and required approximately three months of advanced planning. 

The UT System is more than just a couple schools. UT has a presence in each of the 95 counties in Tennessee. From education to healthcare to economic development and everything in between, the UT System serves all 6.91 million of the state’s residents in big and small ways. UT produces the teachers, doctors, dentists, and entrepreneurs that teach, care for, and create in our state. It also serves millions of Tennesseans through UT Extension, Institute for Public Service, and more. 

Boyd doesn’t hide his enthusiasm for the people that make up the UT System. The UT System president and businessman was clearly in his element during every stop of the Everywhere You Look, UT statewide tour. “Everywhere you look, we are making a sizeable impact in the communities we serve,” Boyd said. “I am proud to have visited with our state’s difference-makers and community leaders as we remembered the important role our campuses and institutes play in Tennessee.”"

From the Judges

UT's Tour Across Tennessee was an incredibly smart use of resources and seemed to have a great impact across the counties that they visited. The judges felt this was a creative and intentional event series that really enabled the University to touch their constituents at a level that is not often seen in Advancement. The website recapping all the events and touch points was especially impressive, allowing anyone to see how connected UT is across the many different counties of Tennessee.
