Family Programming
From the Nominator
"We looked at the fact that we were not engaging alumni between 32-45 years of age, as we figured they were busy dealing with family priorities. We decided to target programming to kids of our alumni to bring out alumni who we haven't been able to get to our other programming.
This turned out to be a great success. With several programs we have organized for this population, we've seen a large increase in engagement with this audience that we had not seen before. Everything from a Harry Potter Virtual Tour to a Dino Safari Adventure increased this population's engagement levels by over 140% than in previous years."
From the Judges
One alumni population that is difficult to engage is comprised of many constituents who have young children. By using child-focused, as opposed to child-friendly, programs, the institution was able to increase participation amongst their target demographic.
