"By every measure, FutureMakers: The Campaign for Rivers—the most ambitious fundraising initiative in the history of The Rivers School—was a resounding success. Beginning with a formal kickoff at Gillette Stadium in October 2018, we set unprecedented goals—and surpassed our own expectations. Our entire community rallied to the cause, transforming our campus and supporting programs that will benefit students today, tomorrow, and far into the future.
Early on, a team of consultants recommended a fundraising target of $35 million. But many in our community believed we could exceed that goal, and we set our sights on $50 million. When FutureMakers drew to a close in June 2021, we had smashed that ambitious aim on our way to raising an unprecedented $67 million. This enabled us to bring to life all the projects we’d dreamed of and more. It was truly a transformational effort.
Since the school’s inception in 1915, the key drivers of excellence and progress at Rivers have been the extraordinary efforts and commitment of its community. And that was the story of FutureMakers: The story of a school that lives its motto—Excellence with Humanity—and exceeds all expectations through dedication, heart, and hard work. The campaign impact report is meant to celebrate and recognize those efforts. We hope that it captures and reflects the values Rivers holds dear and tells the story of why and how FutureMakers succeeded."
