"In a Fall 2021 feature, we profiled Shaan Akbar, AM ’13, MBA ’13, an alumnus who started out in the gaming industry, but ended up co-founding a remote learning startup called Tutored by Teachers. His story is full of ups and downs.
Artist Brett Ryder signed on to illustrate a two-page opener for us to introduce Akbar's journey. At first this illustration seems just eye-catching and fun, but none of it is just for show. Every part of this design actually reflects a piece of Akbar’s journey, from the dinosaur’s tail on the scale beside the glowing heart to the phoenix flying overhead."

The overall design of the story is sophisticated and modern and exceeds the design quality of many other alumni magazines. Wonderful design throughout with an even stronger spread!
