#MoveInMiami
From the Nominator
"These small acts made a big impact for Miami University and its students. Alumni and friends of Miami once again set records with #MoveInMiami. The university’s annual day of giving outpaced its initial goal of 2,025 gifts in 20 hours and 25 minutes by early afternoon, finishing with 4,812 gifts and $3,317,836 raised. Both of those totals are new highs for the program, which is in its eighth year.
#MoveInMiami showcased more than 125 worthy projects or groups and featured the theme “Small Acts. Big Impact.” The event is traditionally held on move-in day in honor of the incoming class of students.
“It’s extremely rewarding to see so many of our alumni and friends give back in such numbers,” said Tom Herbert, senior vice president for University Advancement. “Their commitment to supporting the students and mission of Miami University is second to none.
Everyone, from alumni to staff, faculty to friends of the university, has made #MoveInMiami a day we all look forward to and part of the fabric of welcoming Miamians to our campuses.” The social media-driven event engaged Miamians across a host of channels and included challenges throughout the day."
