Philanthropy Education Council - One Ball State Day Initiatives
From the Nominator
"The Ball State University Foundation student organization, the Philanthropy Education Council, oversees the planning and execution of all on-campus initiatives for One Ball State Day (OBSD), Ball State’s annual giving day. Their primary goal is to educate students on the impact of philanthropy and encourage them to give to the areas on campus they are most passionate about through educational engagement activities. They accomplish these goals by planning on-campus activities for their peers to participate in, with the goal of increasing student giving year-over-year.
During the pandemic, Ball State decided to continue with the annual giving day. The 12-member council pivoted and organized six in-person, socially distant activities to engage students. The students realized their peers needed buy-in for the day. They took the two months prior to solidify their ideas into tangible plans. It proved to be the most successful One Ball State in history. These initiatives successfully supported an increase in student giving by 68% over OBSD 2020."
