"This is a faculty portrait of Nicole Yunger Halpern, a new professor in our Joint Quantum Institute whose work and theory is grounded in a specialty she calls Quantum Steampunk. We dressed her in a period costume and created an environment with lighting to take her portrait, which would convey the sense of transporting to a different time and place. We used a reflective freight elevator and lit her and it, as well as took advantage of reflections and patterns to create a compelling portrait."
