Think Fast, Talk Smart: The Podcast
From the Nominator
"Think Fast, Talk Smart is Stanford Graduate School of Business’s first original podcast. It launched in January 2020 and releases two episodes each month. Each episode provides concrete tools and techniques to help listeners hone and enhance their communication skills, especially when under pressure. Our host, lecturer Matt Abrahams, invites business school faculty and members of the broader Stanford community to share ideas and tips for effective communication. Conversations are entertaining, yet full of practical guidance, routinely earning praise from both new listeners and regular subscribers.
The show is one of the most popular business podcasts in the world. It has reached over 10 million downloads, with a consistent listenership of 150,000 per episode.
As the podcast was completing its second year, we began experimenting with new formats and approaches. For the winter holidays, we repurposed content from previous episodes into a package of Communication Recipes.
Another goal of our podcast is to address listeners’ needs and questions about the changing landscape of work and, more specifically, how we communicate differently in this new environment of hybrid work. As our own workplace moved into a hybrid in-office/at-home schedule, we ourselves had questions about how that would work. We released an episode, “The New Normal: How Hybrid Work Actually Works,” to provide our audience (and ourselves) with new tools for establishing work culture, setting boundaries, and building teams in the post-pandemic workplace."
From the Judges
Very creative 'recipes' idea that goes beyond just an audio recording and is evident by its impressive audience reach!
