"Primary and secondary research gathered by our team shows that Gen Z is a diverse group of individuals pushing for social change and greater authenticity. In their own words, "We grew up watching and interacting with YouTube stars who were just like us. As such, we appreciate the chance to engage with authentic, imperfect art." When asked about universities, they say, "The value of college is usually not the coursework. We go to college because of the connections we can make with professors, professionals, and our peers."
These themes align with UCR's welcoming campus community and innovative and world-class faculty. To illustrate how UCR is uniquely suited to help these students reach their personal, educational, and career goals, we developed our "Unique. Committed. Real." campaign theme and brought it to life in a brochure. The goal is to highlight UCR's innovative, transformative students and faculty in a fun, relatable, and attainable way. The brochure highlights several innovative UCR alumni showing how they're impacting the world and several UCR professors that aren't just teachers—they're doers shaping their industries and the world."

In this UCR piece, the commitment to highlighting new voices, new stories, and new visions was clear. There was a strong visual appeal and the piece showcased life at the school well. We found this entry was a particularly strong one when it came to emphasizing that no matter who the student is, their identity is valid.
