"Our mission on One Ball State Day is to unite students, alumni, employees, and friends of the university. We are always looking to send meaningful and nostalgic communication pieces to our alumni and friends.
That is how the We Are Cardinals video was born. This video was student-produced by our student videographer. He and I (Associate Director of Digital Philanthropy) sat down together and wrote down what Ball State is most known for. Our student videographer turned it into a beautiful spoken word. We selected Theatre & Dance scholarship recipient and student Edgar DeSantiago, who was recommended by his department to be featured in the video.
When we wrote the script and filmed the video, we wanted to evoke emotion, make people laugh, and make them proud to be a Cardinal. To remind our Ball State graduates and students that "we are cardinals" not just while we were students, but forever."

We liked that this video gave us an emotional response that made us feel connected to Ball State, despite not having an actual connection. The video was simple, effective, and had a great ROI. Great job to all who participated in making this video.
