"Welcome to Meadowbrook!"
From the Nominator
"The Meadowbrook School of Weston created more than 120 personalized acceptance videos for all K-8 accepted students in 2021. The 40+ middle school-accepted student videos featured personalized text at the beginning "For [Student Name] Class of 20xx," a personalized video message in the middle from the head of school saying "Welcome to Meadowbrook, [Student Name]. What will you do here?", and personalized text at the end, "Welcome to Meadowbrook, [Student Name]."
The two-minute video was not only personalized, it featured highlights of the Meadowbrook Middle School experience: a mix of academics, athletics, arts, technology, friendship, and more, with Meadowbrook students "in action" delivering welcome messages. The accepted student video was set to an upbeat, royalty-free, feel-good song.
A K-8 school located in the suburbs of Boston, the admissions acceptance videos are an important yield tool that can help sway student and family decisions to attend. Working with admissions, the videos were produced by Meadowbrook's film & broadcast media teacher, who created three distinct video templates for Meadowbrook's primary school (grades junior kindergarten through second), lower school (grades 3-5), and middle school (grades 6-8).
Personalized congratulations by Meadowbrook's head of school were filmed a week prior to the March 10 acceptance day. The personalized videos were edited, exported, and uploaded to private Vimeo links over a three-day period. Meadowbrook's admissions team personally emailed each video to families as part of the acceptance notifications on March 10.
The end result was a fully enrolled school for the 2021-2022 school year."
From the Judges
Great to see personalised content being considered as part of a student-faced video series. The video engages the audience, adds a real personal touch, and showcases the best of the campus.
