"In fall 2021, the University of Mississippi announced a first-year student enrollment of 3,584—its largest increase in the number of incoming first-year students from one fall to the next in university history. In a year when many universities saw declining enrollment as an impact of the pandemic, Ole Miss saw an 18 percent increase in its first-year class from 2020. The accomplishment was celebrated across the university and within the marketing and communications and enrollment management units, it was a shared victory on the heels of declining enrollment figures during the previous four years.
Fast forward to January 2022, when our teams within marketing and communications and enrollment management gathered during an annual summit to discuss and plan how to surpass our efforts in 2021 and sustain that momentum. We set out to create more consistent recruitment materials with targeted, effective content to drive even more applications for the incoming class of 2027. Key to that discussion were five print publications that set the tone for fall 2023: an updated viewbook, guides for financial aid, housing, prospective student and parent visitors, and even a new postcard series.
As of March 2023, applications for the incoming class are up 23 percent from the previous year."
