"The Iowa State University 2022 President’s Holiday Message was a video to facilitate an emotional connection to the university by capturing a journey through one of its most iconic campus buildings in a way previously not possible. After two years of relatively straightforward presidential holiday videos that directly or indirectly addressed the mood of the pandemic, this video marked a return to a more inventive approach, a soaringly heartfelt mood and delivering a message illustrative of an actively engaged campus community.
A first-person view (FPV) drone was employed to fly a carefully choreographed circuit through Beardshear Hall, culminating in a dramatic reveal of the student vocal group circled around the rotunda singing "Bells of Iowa State." At the conclusion, the drone flies between ISU President Wendy Wintersteen and her spouse, out the doors, over the campus holiday tree and shows Beardshear as the song ends."

This nomination certainly left an impression with its powerful impact and impressive accomplishment. The attention to detail and planning is evident, as well as the emotional impact it had on viewers. The nomination truly hit the mark in conveying its message. Additionally, the incorporation of campus architecture in the video was not only fun to watch, but also effective in highlighting the beauty of the campus.
