Getting to Know You | Pass the TINY Mic
From the Nominator
“Getting to Know You” was the pilot episode of the Pass the TINY Mic video series we created to shine a spotlight on the employees and students of Stanford Medicine—doctors, nurses, receptionists, researchers, and all of our essential workers. Our roving TINY Mic reporters (producers from the Office of Communications team) took to the main campus and adult hospital to conduct lighthearted, impromptu interviews with people they met “on the street.” Using just their iPhones and a tiny microphone, they recorded favorite hobbies, songs, and other fun personal details. They interviewed a wide variety of community members, including PhD students, nurses, librarians, patient access representatives, and professors. The clips were then edited together with humorous images and gifs to create a whimsical getting-to-know-you video. The video was released exclusively on the StanfordMed TODAY, our internal communications app, and Stanford Medicine Pulse, our newsletter.
From the Judges
We loved that Stanford was able to jump on a social media trend and use it to their advantage in an effort to get to know their community. Spending just $8, this was a perfect example of producing a video on a shoestring.
