Invest in Impact and Innovation: The Hopkins Fund Micro-Site
From the Nominator
"As the primary vehicle for annual contributions to the Homewood Undergraduate Schools at Johns Hopkins University, The Hopkins Fund required a refreshed brand identity, one that specifically brings the possibilities for impact and innovation to life at the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences and the Whiting School of Engineering. It was important to elevate our brand to transparently tell the story of how giving to and through The Hopkins Fund makes an immediate and lasting impact on the Homewood community.
In conjunction with the introduction of a new Leadership Giving Circles initiative to strengthen the midlevel pipeline for The Hopkins Fund, we knew it was time to raise the bar in our online and print "leave behind" footprint to present a clear and engaging call to action for our undergraduate alumni constituent community.
The result of these efforts is a dynamic microsite for The Hopkins Fund, which includes a video invitation to join the Leadership Giving Circles that features the Deans of both Homewood Schools. Further, for supporting collateral, a pocket brochure with interchangeable inserts to meet the unique interest, school affiliation, and/or age demographic of the donor prospect and an announcement mailer to introduce the Leadership Giving Circles initiative to key prospects laid the groundwork for our print marketing."
From the Judges
Judges found this to be a strong example of a nicely done annual giving site. It is well organized, and the emphasis on including personal messages from two deans is a terrific touch. Judges also appreciated the inclusion of the giving societies and how they "come to life" within this site and make it easy for donors to explore various giving levels and priorities. The ease of the giving page and quick links from the donor societies is something other institutions may want to consider and replicate.
