From the Nominator
"Throughout Mendoza Business magazine, we endeavor to connect our alumni, students, faculty, and staff to the ongoing vibrancy of research, student life, thought leadership, and a sense of community. We want to offer many points of entry, whether through an in-depth thought piece such as the cover story, photos and briefs in the Chronicle section, and personal stories of our students and alumni that provide accounts of how they live the mission of the college and university.
The magazine is organized into categories that holistically comprise areas of strategic importance to the Mendoza College of Business—faculty research, features, and family—with each section providing excellent storytelling supported by compelling photos and informational graphics. It opens with a photo feature, "Through the Lens," to draw readers in immediately and to provide an opportunity for us to tell a story about an important topic through photos. In the case of the 2022 edition, we used the feature to tell the story of how the cover art was created, adding perspective to the thought that went into the illustration.
We are intentional about including diverse voices and representation, as the magazine is the college's most compelling text for understanding the thoughts, opinions, and initiatives that shape Mendoza's community.
The magazine also serves as a vehicle for promoting the college's research reputation to peer business school deans, directors, and faculty for the purpose of raising awareness of the areas of research and individual faculty members' thought leadership."
