Ramblin' On
From the Nominator
Ramblin’ On is a large-scale celebration event hosted by the Georgia Tech Alumni Association to welcome graduates to the Alumni Association and recognize their graduation achievements. The event is named after our mascot, the Ramblin’ Wreck, and the notion that our students are moving on. This event celebrates graduates with drinks, food, unique photo ops, and fireworks and serves as a valuable connection point for these graduates to update their contact information and engage with alumni and members of the Alumni Association. Various departments, including Alumni Engagement, Travel Programs, Career Development, and members from our Regional Networks, Affinity Groups, and Graduates of the Last Decade Council host activities to interact with graduates and help them connect to resources and people within the Yellow Jacket community. Each year, we engage between 1000 to 2000 soon-to-be graduates at this event. Ramblin’ On seeks to ensure students will graduate thinking positively of the Alumni Association, continue to be educated about Georgia Tech alumni benefits, and understand the Alumni Association is their forever connection to Tech.
From the Judges
This event amplifies affinity towards the university and informs graduates of how to engage post-graduation, including collecting personal email addresses. Events like this celebrate the graduates and remind them that although they are leaving the university, the university will still be home to them.
