Utah State Magazine publishes quarterly. Two issues are in print and sent to roughly half of USU alumni. Two digital issues are produced annually, and every member of the USU alumni receives these two issues in their email inbox. We know our chance to connect with many readers is limited to an initial e-mail blast and posts on social media. For people to click an image, it has to strike readers in the heart. We rely on our in-house photographer to create portraits that connect with the story, honor the subject, and invoke a sense of curiosity. The portraits submitted are from some of the most popular stories from our print and digital editions.

Great lighting on all of these shots, especially the outdoor ones with strobes. Each photo tells its own story and works well in context. Balanced series demonstrating technical proficiency. A couple of nice touches with the ice water at the reservoir. Solid, steady work.
