Unboxed Mental Health Campaign
From the Nominator
Unboxed is an all-encompassing student mental-health awareness campaign built to open the conversation about mental health and make Indiana University’s resources widely known to increase access and use. The concept focuses on the idea of unpacking a complex and difficult-to-discuss issue, so that it is more approachable. Across each of Indiana University’s nine campuses, we engaged students with pop-up events, delivered email reminders, posted campus signage, and distributed swag to encourage them to be mental health advocates in their communities. Materials included QR codes and direct links to IU’s website for mental health resources, ensuring students can get the help they need whenever and wherever they need it.
From the Judges
Mental health is a very important thing for all of us, especially students. Normalizing mental health treatment and making it readily available is a big step. This was a unique approach to a difficult problem.
