Mike McCoy
Mike McCoy is the former executive vice president and CFO of Hormel Foods Corporation in Minnesota. A Wisconsin native, he and his wife, Marge, are heavily involved at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, where their two children attended. McCoy currently serves as chair of the Wartburg Board of Regents, and the couple co-chaired the College's Transforming Tomorrow Campaign Committee, providing leadership for the $89 million fundraising effort.
The McCoys have been extraordinary donors, providing more than $7 million in gifts for capital projects, an endowed chair, and numerous other enhancements to the College’s living and learning environment. In addition to their work at Wartburg, Mike is also involved in many Door County organizations, including Door County Land Trust, Neighbor to Neighbor, Bethany Lutheran Church, and Northern Sky Theater, where he serves on the board. In 2019, the McCoys were named Door County Community Foundation's Philanthropists of the Year for their community involvement and generosity to organizations in need.
Mike earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, in 1969. He passed his CPA exam in 1975. Mike also served in the Iowa National Guard 1970-76.
