DuBron Rabb
A former California Army National Guard reservist, DuBron Rabb’s journey in higher education started with working in employer relations at the UC Riverside Career Center. His career transitioned to university advancement when he took a position as the Associate Director of Development for the Bourns College of Engineering (BCOE). He proposed, organized, and implemented BCOE’s first match challenge for student professional organizations to generate additional annual support. The match challenge has since become a strong annual tradition at BCOE, dramatically increasing support for student organizations while cultivating a wide variety of new donors.
Rabb was then promoted to the Director of Development for the College of Natural & Agricultural Sciences, the largest fundraising unit at UC Riverside. He contributed towards the successful completion of the campus’ first comprehensive campaign, in which the College of Natural & Agricultural Sciences raised over one-third of the campus-wide $300 million campaign goal. Rabb has demonstrated leadership qualities by serving as the lead fundraiser for the largest unit during a period of staff transition. He helped onboard and develop new staff members and guided the college during the launch of a campus-wide student success fundraising initiative.
Currently, as the Senior Director of Development, Rabb continues to seek opportunities to serve the university. He is a member of the executive board for UCR’s Black Faculty and Staff Association and chairs the University Advancement Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Committee. He aims to equip advancement staff with the tools necessary to apply a DEIB lens to their work with students, alumni, and donors. Rabb is on the CASE District VII conference executive committee as the Opportunity Inclusion Chair and has previously served as a judge for District VII Diversity awards.
