Alyson has been a professional fundraiser for almost nine years, first in healthcare then in social justice, fundraising for Our Place Society, an organization that supports Victoria’s most vulnerable populations. Alyson honed her skills in annual and major gifts, corporate sponsorship and special events. In 2018, Alyson joined Camosun College as an Advancement Officer with a broad portfolio covering Trades, Student wellbeing & Indigenous initiatives. She has raised over $6.2M in 4.5 years through major gifts and annual giving campaigns. She was responsible for Camosun’s first ever Giving Tuesday Campaign in 2018 and went on to spearhead the Erasing Barriers fund and campaign—a fund to support every student in need. She received her CFRE in 2019, and continues to give back to her profession as a AFP mentor, CAGP (Victoria) Board Member and a CASE District VIII Conference Leadership Team and Awards Judge. She also finds time to volunteer for several local charities.
