Pamela Aranas
Known as District VIII’s resident historian and governance geek, Pam Aranas is a decade-long CASE volunteer, having served in multiple volunteer capacities within District VIII including leadership roles on the conference committee and the district cabinet. She is a keen proponent of CASE’s work in championing the profession of educational advancement and industry professionals to one another.
From 2017 to 2021, Pam was the District VIII’s secretary, helping to steward the district’s transition to the OneCASE governance model. She is currently a member of the district cabinet’s Volunteer Engagement and Opportunity & Inclusion committees. She is also the chair of the 2023 District VIII Conference Opportunity & Inclusion Committee.
Pam’s career in advancement began during her second year as a student caller at the University of Alberta. She did not enjoy the role and initially swore off advancement work; however, this was short-lived as the lasting impression from her experience inspired Pam to instead pursue opportunities where she could improve how institutions engage with alumni, students, and the community.
Since then, Pam has a built a successful 15+ year career in higher education advancement focusing primarily on alumni engagement, fund development, stakeholder relations, and strategic program design. This work has brought her to Alberta’s three largest post-secondary institutions: the University of Alberta, the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), and most recently the University of Calgary, where she is currently the Associate Director of Development and Alumni Engagement at the Haskayne School of Business.
Pam is proud graduate of the University of Alberta and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Certificate in Globalization and Governance.
