Closing Keynote - DEI and Fundraising and Philanthropy: A Brutally Honest Conversation
Fundraising, communications, marketing, alumni relations, and advancement services professionals play a critical role in advancing important missions, especially over the past several years of the pandemic. At the same time, many of our philosophies and practices perpetuate inequity, even as we strive for equity, diversity, and inclusion. What would it look like if we were truly equitable? What long-held beliefs would we let go? What new ones would we adopt? How do we get the advancement field to be authentically inclusive and aligned with its stated values? What uncomfortable conversations must we have? We will discuss these and other topics in this honest presentation that will be sure to provoke, entertain, and enrage. Don't worry, there will be pictures of baby animals.
