Session 6 - Fundraising- Engaging and activating your senior stakeholders
Fundraising departments in European universities and research institutions often have to legitimise their very existence. The struggle for sufficient resources, integration into strategic processes or access to the necessary information makes it difficult to establish professional, successful fundraising. The search for and involvement of recognised internal and external decision-makers and managers then plays an important role at all levels. Be it to facilitate significant donations, to inspire the board of directors for fundraising or to bring about important decisions in favour of the fundraising department. In this interactive presentation you will learn about the value of relationship-orientated fundraising and how you can use strategic stakeholder management to identify your relevant target groups, develop ways to approach and involve important supporters, overcome the invisible hurdle to the president’s office and utilise the untapped potential of existing experts and multipliers for your cause.
Speakers: Caroline Mattingley-Scott, Head of Fundraising, University of Basel
