Using Video to Keep Excitement High for Giving Days
Giving days have become a staple of annual funds in the past decade. But as the novelty of give days wears off and fundraisers face high inflation and other economic uncertainty, how can development officers and their partners in marketing/communications ensure give days (along with annual funds more generally), hit their targets?
Woodberry Forest School did its first OneWoodberry give day in 2017, and the event has become a staple of our annual fund efforts. Over the past two years we've adjusted our video strategy to ensure the day stays fresh and exciting to all participants, helping the school reach record donation levels in a challenging fundraising environment. Tyler Campbell and Jacob Geiger, the two session leaders, have been a part of each of the Woodberry give days.
This session will explore the evolution of Woodberry's give day video strategy, but it will also invite participants to engage in brainstorming and discussion to examine how they might revitalize their own annual giving days.
