Will You Disrupt or Be Disrupted?
As a nonprofit community, we need to re-center on our missions in order to reconcile the promise of transformational technologies with the reality of working in our organizations. Over the next decade, our work will be impacted by a litany of transformational trends: including geopolitical, environmental, demographic, and not the least of which is artificial intelligence.
This kind of disruptive change gives power to those who feel empowered, because everything that threatens the status quo also gives us an opportunity to remake things in ways (large and small) that reflect our vision and our values. As a sector it is our responsibility to give shape to that kind of change in the world, and as professionals it is our right to give shape to that kind of change in our organizations.
