Kate McSweeney
Kate McSweeney is the Director of Communications, Alumni and Development at University College Cork (UCC), where she has worked for the last five years. She has overall responsibility for Communications, Alumni Engagement, Regular Giving and the UCC Alumni Fund. Along with her team she manages relationships across the globe with UCC’s 230,000+ alumni.
Her career at UCC spans 21 years, where she has successfully led transformational change in brand development, internal and external communications, public relations, stakeholder engagement and marketing strategy. More recently, she has led Regular Giving and the UCC Alumni Fund. Prior to Alumni and Development at UCC, Kate worked for the College of Medicine and Health and the Tyndall National Institute, both at UCC.
Kate received her Executive MBA from Henley Business School, her Master’s Degree in Management and Marketing from University College Cork and her Hons Degree in Business (Management and Marketing) from Munster Technological University. In addition, Kate is a Graduate Member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland.
In her senior volunteering roles she was the inaugural Vice-Chair of CASE UK and Ireland Cabinet and played an active part with CASE Directors in shaping the remit of the newly formed Cabinet. She is now the Chair and along with her Cabinet members, she looks forward to implementing the new and exciting strategies to enhance engagement with UK & Ireland member Institutions, and to the CASE mission of advancing education to transform lives and society.
Kate is a CASE Laureate and a CASE Circle of Excellence Award winner.
